“I don’t think we would ever do a proper finale,” Thomas said. “It’s not really like that. The way it finishes is fine, yeah, but we’d never do a tidy end.” Josh's day consists of stopping by Mum's house before heading to Dad and Mae's, they who are hosting a dinner for him, Arnold, and Arnold's parents, Donna and Bruce. This dinner gathering will be the first for this grouping since the disaster that was Arnold's birthday party. Josh passive-aggressively deals with what he feels is an attack on and/or desertion of his life this day, that feeling starting with an impromptu threesome with Kyle who he and Arnold picked up at the drag club the evening before, moving to something that Mum does, to the overall nature of the discussion around the dinner table. Feeling like he needs a touchstone, he turns first to Claire, and then to Tom.
